Volume 9 erscheint für Need for Speed Unbound am 26. November 2024 und bringt neben neuen Fahrzeugen und einem Motorrad auch einen neuen Extraction Multiplayer Modus mit sich.
Im neuen PvPvE Modus, der sich Lockdown nennt (ein Begriff bei dem es einigen sicherlich kalt den Rücken runterläuft) müsst ihr besonders wertvolle Fahrzeuge aus der neuen Lockdown Zone herausholen ohne dabei von den Cops gefasst zu werden.

Extraction Gameplay
Der neue Lockdown Modus kann von bis zu 5 Crews mit jeweils 3 Spielern gespielt werden und wird sein eigenes Matchmaking haben, wie auch scho der PvP Modus. Die Cops werden dabei wohl auch das neue Pursuit Tech einsetzen können, welches mit Volume 8 in Unbound kam.
In den neuen Lockups, also abgesperrte Zonen innerhalb der Lockdown Zone, findet ihr wertvollen Loot. Darunter den BMW M3 GTR '05 von Racer X, sowie 15, von der Blacklist aus Need for Speed Most Wanted, inspirierte Fahrzeuge. Also Fahrzeuge mit Liveries die an die Blacklist Gegner von damals erinnern.
Allerdings sind genau diese Fahrzeuge am schwersten zu bekommen. Wenn ihr es mit diesen Fahrzeugen aus der Lockdown Zone schafft, könnt ihr die Autos behalten und ganz normal im Free Roam, PVP und auch für den neuen Lockdown Modus verwenden. Die Fahrzeuge, die ihr in den Lockups finden könnt, werden sich wöchentlich ändern.
Um erfolgreich aus der Zone zu entkommen, müsst ihr den neuen Extraction Truck für eure Crew beanspruchen. Nur damit könnt ihr mit eurem Loot aus der Zone entkommen.
Solltet ihr es nicht schaffen den Truck für euch zu beanspruchen, so werdet ihr vom tödlichen EMP Schlag des Trucks erfasst und schafft es leider nicht mehr aus der Zone.
Wie man das so aus Extraction Shootern kennt, wird es bestimmte Bereiche aus der Map geben, wo sich besonders wertvoller Loot befindet. Die oben genannten Lockups. Dabei werden diese Lockups aber von einer EMP Wand des Lakeshow P.D. umgeben, welches eurem Fahrzeug über die Zeit Schaden zufügt. Außerdem wird euer Het Level automatisch auf 5 angehoben, wenn ihr so eine Zone betretet.
Im neuen Lockdown Modus erwarten euch außerdem neuen Aufträge, dabei wird es auch spezielle Blacklist Aufträge geben. Dabei könnt ihr eben die an Most Wanted angelehnten Backlist Fahrzeuge in den Lockups finden und aus der Zone extrahieren. Wenn ihr alle 15 gesammelt habt, schaltet ihr den Original BMW M3 GTR frei, welcher ja bisher nur für EA Play Spieler verfügbar war.
Motorräder (oder eher ein Motorrad)
Zum ersten Mal in der Need for Speed Geschichte wird es mit dem Volume 9 Update ein Motorrad in ein NFS schaffen. Ihr könnt das BMW S 1000 RR 2019 in einigen ausgewählten Spielmodi ausprobieren.
Unter anderem im neuen Lockdown Modus wird das Motorrad als eine Art Power Up zur Verfügung stehen, dem die Zone keinen Schaden anrichtet.
Außerdem könnt ihr in speziellen PVP und Freem Roam Playlists mit den Bikes gegen andere Spieler antreten.
Wichtig ist dabei anzumerken, dass ihr das Motorrad nicht zu eurem Fuhrpark hinzufügen und somit auch nicht anpassen könnt.
Persönliche Anmerkung: Ich weiß nicht wieso sie hier von Motorrädern, also Mehrzahl, sprechen, wenn es doch ganz klar nur ein Motorrad ist. Möglicherweise kommt ja noch ein weiteres ins Spiel.
Neue Fahrzeuge
Mit Volume 9 kommen zwei JDM Klassiker in den Fuhrpark von Unbound. Der Hone Integra Type R und der Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
Natürlich bringen beide Fahrzeuge wieder ihre eigenen Bodykits und Anpassungsmöglichkeiten mit. Der Integra ist dabei nur im Premium Speed Pass erhältlich.
Neue PVP und Free Roam Inhalte
In Volume 9 gibt es außerdem jede Menge neue Inhalte für den Multiplayer. Folgende Inhalte erwarten euch:
- Playlists um das 30. jährige NFS Jubiläum zu feiern
- Most Wanted themed
- Neue Drift Pro Playlists
- Spezial PVP playlists wie JDM-only Drift Events
- Insgesamt 14 neue Playllists mit über 60 Routen und Event Konfigurationen

Kostenlsoer Speed Pass
Ein neues Update heißt natürlich auch ein neuer Speed Pass. Euch erwarten wieder jede Menge neue Inhalt auf 45 Stufen. Mit dabei ist der Subaru Impreza WRX STI mit meheren Bodykists und Lockspec Customs welche ihr im Lockdown Modus freischalten könnt.

- Fixed a bug where transmission parts were not swapped out after changing the equipped gearbox to an option with a lower amount of gears, so vehicles no longer have a higher amount of gears than intended.

Contract usability and display improvements
- Automatically expand Contracts tab at the start of a round

Matchmaking Improvements
- Added kick for players who take too long to load into Lockdown sessions, keeping others queuing
- Handle backfilled party members becoming the new host correctly so they can continue on the backfill flow, which leads to stuck lobbies
- Extraction Session Lobby Improvements to allow more players into games and improve wait times loading into gameplay
- Stopped party members from being able to quit after party leader starts matchmaking, leading to bad things in matchmaking and players hanging in zombie lobbies
Other notable improvements and fixes
- Ensure that the last player on a Crew now drops all their loot before being downed
- Ensure that loot items remain in the world during overtime period
- Improved loot dropping from downed players so it remains near their vehicle and not lost down the road
- Implemented VO cool down on Racer X at Lockups to stop that Ding Dong going chap chap chap, all the time!
- Added the Jacked and Impounded details to the Lockdown Garage to highlight and make the current status of vehicle clearer
- Fixed an issue where extracting the same Blacklist vehicle would keep the vehicle and not convert to cash. Causing bloat in vehicle inventory
- Added rewards message after races so players can see how much cash they earned
- Fixed Heat level 5 UI getting stuck after leaving the zone and escaping
- Fixed inconsistencies with Jacked vehicle tiers being displayed as Tier B late onto the round when they are in fact S and S+
- ESF has been updated to provide immunity against roadblock spike strips
- Fixed vehicle repaired messages when passing through gas stations
- Increased the rate of Extraction Truck spawns late into the session
- Fixed an issue in the Squad List that highlighted Crew members collecting cash and not the local player
- Increased cap on owned vehicles from 200 to 250 to help those players with issues because they don’t know their inventory is full. May result in slightly increased load times for players with very high inventory values.
- Added a fix to help recover inventory issues and not being able to play the game. Note this is one use case we finally were able to reproduce in the dev environment. We are truly sorry for players still getting errors, and we will keep trying to find solutions.

Added Lockdown as a stand alone mode in Lakeshore Online
Taking a pinch of nostalgia, adding some contemporary multiplayer flavors, Lockdown introduces an exciting new mode to Lakeshore Online.
- Extraction/PvPvE inspired mode
- Up to 15 players, split across 5 crews
- Race against the clock, as the Lockdown zone gradually consumes Lakeshore and the heat rises
- Pick up cash and jack rides found on the streets (and from downed rival crew members!)
- Enter Lockups to find the most valuable loot, including Hot Rides that get permanently unlocked for use across Lakeshore Online if extracted
- Pursuit Tech (Spike Strips, EMP, Electrostatic Field) available for racers to use throughout Lakeshore in Lockdown

Fixes
- Fixed a bug where the "Speech to Text" option does not function as intended.
- Fixed a bug with the Hot Pursuit playlists where no reward sticker is displayed in the Standings screen for the sole survivor.
- Fixed a bug with the Lotus Evija 2023 where the default position for the top side decals is set too low on the Y-axis, resulting in the decal being hidden under the front bumper when selected for application on the vehicle.
- Fixed a bug with the Speed Pass where Rank 29 Bull Bar Light Projectors do not turn on.
